Banking News – Prime Minister Balen Shah has reaffirmed that the government is implementing a planned and coordinated strategy to address the recent tensions in Sunsari and other affected districts, ensure the safety of citizens, and preserve social harmony and national security across Nepal.

During a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers with lawmakers of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) representing the Madhesh Province, Prime Minister Shah said all state security agencies have been mobilized with heightened vigilance. He urged citizens to remain calm, avoid panic, and maintain peace and social harmony.

The Prime Minister stated that the government’s immediate priorities are to ensure the safety of affected communities, provide security assurances to citizens, and conduct a fair and impartial investigation into recent incidents. He added that a multi-pronged strategy has been adopted to strengthen law and order and prevent the situation from escalating further.

Addressing the lawmakers, Shah called on them to return to their respective constituencies with confidence and serve as a bridge between the government and the public. He emphasized that elected representatives have a responsibility to stand with citizens during difficult and emergency situations.

The lawmakers welcomed the Prime Minister’s appeal and pledged to immediately visit their constituencies to help maintain peace and public confidence. They also noted that Prime Minister Shah’s recent address to the nation had helped reassure citizens, particularly in the affected regions.

Participants in the meeting stressed the importance of continued dialogue with religious leaders, civil society representatives, intellectuals, local political leaders, and community stakeholders to promote long-term peace, social cohesion, and mutual trust.

The lawmakers further recommended launching public awareness campaigns to counter misinformation and rumors circulating on social media, particularly among young people, while encouraging the continued dissemination of messages promoting religious tolerance, communal harmony, and national unity.
