Banking News – Simrik Air has received permanent regulatory approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to operate commercial skydiving services in Pokhara, marking a significant milestone for Nepal’s adventure tourism sector.

The company obtained the authorization through its sister company, In Sky Skydive, allowing it to offer full-time skydiving operations. Previously, the company had been conducting skydiving activities only under special permits.

Experienced Team of Internationally Licensed Skydivers

According to Simrik Air, the skydiving operation is supported by a team of six experienced Nepali skydivers, all of whom hold skydiving licenses issued in the United States.

The company’s lead instructor and commander is also a certified safety instructor with experience of more than 2,500 jumps. The remaining five team members have each completed over 2,000 jumps, including operations in Bangkok, Dubai, and Nepal.

Boosting Nepal’s Adventure Tourism

Simrik Air said the launch of permanent skydiving operations is aimed at positioning Nepal as a premier global destination for adventure tourism, complementing its reputation for trekking, mountaineering, and nature-based travel.

The company believes that receiving a permanent operating license will help expand Nepal’s adventure tourism industry while establishing higher standards for safety and professional skydiving services.

It also said the initiative is intended to demonstrate that Nepal offers promising career and recreational opportunities in the adventure tourism sector, particularly for young people interested in extreme sports.

Simrik Air added that permanent skydiving operations will provide both domestic and international tourists with a world-class adventure experience while strengthening Nepal’s portfolio of high-value tourism products.
