Government Approves Revised Salary Scale and Benefits for Public Employees

Banking News – The Government of Nepal has officially approved the revised salary structure and service benefits for public sector employees as announced in the Fiscal Year 2083/84 (2026/27) Budget.

The Budget and Program Division of the Ministry of Finance has published the updated salary scale, incorporating the new basic pay, grade, technical grade, and incentive allowances.

The revised salary structure has been implemented effective from Shrawan 1 (mid-July 2026). It applies to civil servants, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, health service employees, parliamentary service personnel, community school teachers, and employees of provincial and local governments for pension-related purposes, in accordance with Schedules 1 to 8.

In addition to the revised basic salary, the government has approved:

  • A grade amount equivalent to one day’s salary, and
  • A monthly incentive allowance equal to 10 percent of the revised basic salary.

The Ministry of Finance has issued the updated salary scales and related benefits under the new fiscal year’s compensation framework.

Who will receive how much?

The detailed salary payable to each employee will vary depending on their service, position, level, and grade as specified in the official salary schedules (Schedules 1–8) issued by the Ministry of Finance.
