Banking News – The Transport Management Office, Janakpurdham, collected Rs. 571.53 million (Rs. 57.15 crore) in revenue during the fiscal year 2025/26 (FY 2082/83) from vehicle registration, renewal, driver’s license services, and other transport-related fees.

According to Office Chief Basudev Malla, the revenue collection stood at Rs. 571,530,636, marking a decline of Rs. 95.41 million (Rs. 9.54 crore) compared to the Rs. 666,943,980 collected in the previous fiscal year.

The office attributed the decline to disruptions caused by the Gen Z protests held on Bhadra 23–24 and delays in the Department of Transport Management’s software system during the final month of the fiscal year, which affected revenue collection.

During FY 2025/26, the office registered 21,294 new vehicles, including:

• 16,957 motorcycles
• 187 buses and trucks
• 1,902 tempos/electric rickshaws
• 1,022 tractors
• 226 jeeps and cars

In the same period, the office also issued 13,338 driving licenses, including new licenses and category upgrades.

The Transport Management Office expects service delivery and revenue collection to improve as digital systems become more stable and operational disruptions are minimized.
