Banking News – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has conferred new rank insignia on 10 promoted technical police officers during a ceremony held at the Nepal Police Headquarters on Thursday.

The promotions were approved under separate government decisions dated Shrawan 18, 2083 (August 2026). According to the decisions, one Technical Superintendent of Police (SP) was promoted to Technical Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), four Technical Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were promoted to Technical Superintendents of Police (SPs), four Technical Inspectors were promoted to Technical Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and one Technical Senior Sub-Inspector was promoted to Technical Inspector, bringing the total number of promoted officers to 10.

The officers receiving their new rank insignia are:

• Technical Senior Superintendent of Police: Er. Damodar Kandel
• Technical Superintendents of Police: Er. Amarendra Prasad Singh, Ram Babu Rana, Abhay Kumar Jha, and Anup Shrestha
• Technical Deputy Superintendents of Police: Er. Nisha Chaudhary, Er. Sanjip Dahal, Er. Ramesh Kumar Sah, and Er. Anjan Raj Kharel
• Technical Inspector: Min Prasad Khatri

Addressing the insignia presentation ceremony, IGP Karki congratulated the promoted officers and extended his best wishes for their continued professional success.

He emphasized that the technical wing of Nepal Police plays a vital role in strengthening the institution’s operational capacity, improving public service delivery, enhancing law enforcement efficiency, maintaining peace and security, and supporting crime control and criminal investigations.

IGP Karki also urged the newly promoted officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and fulfill their expanded responsibilities with dedication, contributing further to the organizational development and effectiveness of Nepal Police.
