Banking News – IME Khalti Limited has enabled its users to participate in the Government of Nepal’s ‘Taxpayer Reward Program 2083’, launched by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) under the Ministry of Finance, allowing eligible customers to automatically enter daily and fortnightly prize draws through digital payments.

Under the program, Khalti users who make eligible digital payments of more than Rs. 100 will be automatically enrolled in the government’s taxpayer incentive scheme.

As part of the initiative, one winner will receive Rs. 100,000 (after applicable tax deduction) every day, while one bumper prize winner will receive Rs. 1 million every 15 days.

Khalti said that details of all eligible transactions will be securely transmitted to the Inland Revenue Department’s platform, where reward coupons will be generated automatically. Users will also be able to view their reward coupons directly through the Khalti app, making participation simple and convenient.

According to the program, the Inland Revenue Department will select winners through an automated system on the 1st and 16th of every month and notify them via mobile phone and email. Khalti will also inform winning users through its own communication channels.

By joining the government’s initiative, Khalti aims to promote bill-based transactions, encourage wider adoption of digital payments, and strengthen consumer confidence in Nepal’s digital financial ecosystem. The company said the program is expected to improve transaction record-keeping while contributing to the growth of the formal economy and strengthening the country’s revenue system.

Praveen Regmi, Chief Executive Officer of IME Khalti Limited, said the company is pleased to make the government’s taxpayer reward initiative easily accessible to its users. He added that Khalti remains committed to supporting national priorities, promoting financial transparency, and contributing responsibly to Nepal’s digital economy by delivering secure, convenient, and inclusive digital financial services.
