Banking News – The Transport Management Service Office, Jumla collected a total of Rs. 19.44 million in revenue during fiscal year 2082/83, around Rs. 5 million more than the previous fiscal year.

The office attributed the increase in revenue to a rise in the number of driving license applicants and registered vehicles, along with faster and more efficient service delivery.

According to Office Chief Rajendra Karki, the office collected Rs. 1.888 million from pocket and route permits, Rs. 6.492 million from vehicle registration book fees, Rs. 668,000 in advance income tax, and Rs. 1,575 from recovery of outstanding dues.

The office generated the largest share of revenue from vehicle taxes, collecting Rs. 13.903 million under the heading during the review period.

During FY 2082/83, the office distributed a total of 620 driving licenses. Of these, 188 licenses were issued under Category A for motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, while 38 licenses were issued under Category B for cars, jeeps and delivery vans.

The remaining 394 licenses were issued through duplicate and renewal services, according to the office.
