Banking News – Three people have gone missing at different locations in Pokhara after being swept away while attempting to cross swollen streams following continuous rainfall, police said.

Two minors went missing while crossing the Vijayapur stream near Bhagwati Hydropower in Sakneri, Pokhara Metropolitan City-26. According to police, the two were swept away while crossing the stream from Vijay Basti in Pokhara-14 toward Sakneri.

The missing minors have been identified as 15-year-old Oमन Rai, son of Subas Rai of Khotang, currently residing in Chauthe, Pokhara-14, and 14-year-old Nikson Gurung, son of Chandra Bahadur Gurung of Syangja, currently residing in Chinedanda, Pokhara.

A police team has been deployed to search for the missing minors, but they had not been found as of late Saturday. Police said the search operation would resume early Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, another person went missing while attempting to cross a stream in the Pokhara-Shishuwa area. The identity of the individual has not yet been established, according to the Kaski District Police, and a search operation is underway.

Continuous rainfall has also caused landslides, road erosion and damage to bridges in various parts of Kaski. Police said flooding in the Modi River near Birethanti of Annapurna Rural Municipality has also caused significant damage.

With water levels in streams and rivers rising due to continued rainfall, police have urged residents and travelers to exercise caution when moving through areas at risk of flooding and other rain-related hazards.
