Banking News – The Ministry of Education and Sports has launched its ‘Education Dialogue’ campaign from Biratnagar to engage directly with stakeholders from the education sector ahead of drafting the proposed Education Act.

The program was held at Adarsha Secondary School in Biratnagar, with the participation of school principals, teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders from the local education sector.

Education expert Dr. Bidyanath Koirala, education activist Abhishek Ghimire, Principals’ Association Nepal President Sudam Gautam, and Shiv Sapkota, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education and head of the School Education Division, among others, participated in the event.

Speaking at the program, Shailendra Jha, advisor to the Minister of Education, said education policy has a long-term impact and should therefore be designed with a forward-looking vision capable of serving the country for at least 25 to 30 years.

Jha said it was important to listen to the voices of education stakeholders across the country before drafting the new Education Act. He added that the ministry has begun consultations with local stakeholders by visiting all seven provinces.

The second day of the ‘Education Dialogue’ campaign is scheduled to take place in Janakpur today. Under the campaign, the ministry will hold direct consultations with teachers, students, school principals, parents, local governments and other education stakeholders across all seven provinces.
