Banking News – The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 has concluded with an enthusiastic participation of more than 180,000 visitors, significantly exceeding the organizer’s initial expectation of 150,000 visitors over six days.

Organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), the expo was formally inaugurated on Shrawan 26. More than 30,000 visitors attended on the closing day alone. The expo recorded approximately 29,000 visitors on the opening day, 26,000 on the second day, 22,000 on the third day, 31,000 on the fourth day and more than 42,000 on Saturday.

NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said the participation of more than 55 brands, over 180,000 visitors and the launch of 53 new products were among the expo’s major achievements.

She described the event as a collective success for Nepal’s entire mobility industry rather than the achievement of any individual or organization. She said the expo focused not only on showcasing new vehicles and technologies but also on knowledge and learning, aiming to establish the event as a platform for knowledge creation.

Vaidya said the large turnout was a major source of encouragement for the young organization. “This is not the end, but the beginning,” she said, expressing NAIMA’s commitment to making future editions bigger, better and stronger.

NAIMA Board Member Cabinett Shrestha said the large turnout was a positive indication for the automobile industry and described the expo as successful in every respect.

Similarly, Gaurav Sharda, Chairman of the Auto Show Planning Committee, said the expo performed better than expected, with higher visitor numbers, stronger inquiries and better bookings than anticipated.

NAIMA’s Strategy and Membership Affairs Committee Chairman Aakash Golchha described the expo in one word as a “superhit.” Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal said the expo concept was strengthened through a combination of a large-scale exhibition, learning sessions, broader collaboration and demand-focused management.

On the closing day, a NAIMA Mobility Dialogue was held on the theme “Importing Talent, Exporting Workers: Bridging Nepal’s Education, Skills and Entrepreneurship Gap.” House of Representatives member Bidushi Rana, NAIMA Board Member and Padma Jyoti Group Chairman Saurabh Jyoti, Padma Kanya Campus Assistant Professor Bhagwati Sedain, and Thapathali Engineering Campus Assistant Professor Lochankendra Devkota participated as panelists.

Throughout the expo, discussions and interactive sessions were held on topics including “AI and Automotive Technology: Driving the Future of Mobility,” “Battery Recycle and Ethanol Blending in Fuel,” “Mobilizing Mobility through Finance & Insurance,” “Mobility: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” and “Investment and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI): Mobilizing Fuel for Economic Growth.”

NAIMA said the second edition of the expo was organized with the objective of promoting a sustainable, green and technology-friendly transportation system in Nepal. The event featured significant participation from domestic and multinational vehicle manufacturers and importers, showcasing various brands and new mobility technologies.
