Banking News – The Road Division Office, Hetauda has demolished the building of Nepal Telecom’s Birgunj Telecommunications Office despite a short-term interim order issued by the High Court Janakpur, Birgunj Bench.
According to Nepal Telecom, the court had issued the short-term interim order on Shrawan 29, directing that work related to the expansion of Birgunj’s main road should not be carried out until further orders.

Prior to the court order, Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangeeta Pahadi (Aryal) had filed a writ petition at the court on Shrawan 28, naming the Road Division Office, Hetauda, and the District Administration Office, Parsa, among others, as defendants.
In the case, the court had directed the defendants to submit a written response with supporting evidence within 15 days, excluding the period required for service of the notice, explaining why the requested order should not be issued.
However, Nepal Telecom said the Road Division Office, Hetauda proceeded to demolish the telecommunications office building near Ghantaghar in Birgunj even after the court order.
According to the company, the building was demolished on Shrawan 30 and 31 using two bulldozers, and the demolition was carried out in a manner that differed from the mapping determined by the Department of Survey.
Nepal Telecom expressed dissatisfaction over the unilateral demolition despite its commitment to reconstruct the building’s structure in accordance with approved standards.
The company also said it expects greater coordination and cooperation from the concerned authorities in the days ahead.
