Banking News – Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Mohan Lal Acharya has drawn the government’s attention to the ongoing shortage of cooking gas in the market and urged immediate measures to resolve the problem.
Speaking during the zero hour of Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting, Acharya said there was a clear gap between the information provided by the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies in Parliament and the situation being faced by consumers in the market.

Acharya noted that the minister had recently told Parliament that there was no shortage of cooking gas, while consumers continued to face shortages and difficulties in obtaining LPG cylinders.
“The Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies came to Parliament some time ago and said there was no problem with gas, but consumers are still facing difficulties in getting gas in practice,” Acharya said.
He urged the government to clarify its plans to ensure smooth LPG supplies and also sought its position on alternatives to cooking gas, including the effective promotion of electric cooking and energy use.
“How will gas be made readily available? What are the alternatives? How can the use of electrical appliances be made more effective? We want answers from the government on these issues,” Acharya said.
Calling it unfortunate that consumers continue to struggle while the minister maintains in Parliament that there is no gas shortage, Acharya urged the government to immediately identify and implement measures to ease the supply situation.
