Banking News – Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ranju Darshana (Neupane) has urged the government to immediately address the demands of victims whose gold pledged as collateral at banks was looted during the Gen Z protests.
Speaking during the zero hour of Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting, Neupane said citizens who had taken loans by pledging gold at banks were facing difficulties after the collateral gold was looted during the protests. She said the victims had neither received their gold back nor received compensation for its value, and urged the government to take necessary steps to resolve their problems.

“After the gold was also looted in the incident on Bhadra 24, the victims have neither received their gold back nor received its value. Their grievances must be heard,” she said in Parliament.
Neupane also raised concerns over the ineffective operation of the health insurance program, saying that the suspension of health insurance services had deprived ordinary citizens of medical treatment. She urged the government to take whatever measures were necessary to bring the program back into effective operation.
The issues raised by a lawmaker from the ruling party have further highlighted concerns over government service delivery and the need to address the problems faced by citizens affected by the looting of bank-pledged gold and disruptions to health insurance services.
