Banking News – Four individuals have been charged with allegedly engaging in the black marketing of government-subsidized chemical fertilizer in Ghorahi, Dang.
Based on a police investigation report, cases have been filed against Sohanlal Chaudhary and Krishnabahadur Chaudhary of Ghorahi, and Diwakar Khatri and Khim Bahadur Gharti of Banglachuli under the Black Marketing and Some Other Social Offenses and Punishment Act, 2032.
According to police, the four were arrested on the night of Shrawan 28 while transporting and selling DAP and urea fertilizer on a tractor in Sisahaniya, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-7. Police also seized 53 sacks of DAP and four sacks of urea along with the tractor.

The investigation found that the accused had purchased 130 sacks of DAP and 180 sacks of urea on Shrawan 28 for a cooperative in Banglachuli Rural Municipality-5.
Authorities said evidence was found that the government-subsidized fertilizer was being sold above the prescribed price, thereby defrauding farmers. Legal action was initiated based on the findings, according to the Assistant District Attorney.
The prosecution has sought imprisonment and fines against the accused as prescribed by law. It has also sought the confiscation of the seized fertilizer and arrangements for its sale and distribution to farmers at appropriate prices through the concerned cooperative or the Agricultural Inputs Company.
