Banking News – Prof. Dr. Dhundiraj Poudel has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC). Newly appointed Chairman Poudel took the oath of office and secrecy before Minister for Health and Population Nisha Mehta on Wednesday.

Dr. Poudel is a senior Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist and currently serves as the Head of the ENT Department and Professor at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur.

Previously, he served in various capacities at Bir Hospital, Bheri Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital and Dang Hospital.

Dr. Poudel completed his MS in ENT Surgery with a Gold Medal from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He had earlier completed his MBBS from the same institution.

He has also served as an executive member and coordinator of the Ethics and Examination Committee of the Nepal Medical Council.

With extensive experience as a senior medical professional and in various responsibilities within the Council, Dr. Poudel’s appointment is expected to contribute to improving the quality of medical education, medical ethics and regulatory standards in Nepal’s healthcare sector.
