Banking News – Garima Bikas Bank Limited has officially relocated its central office from Lazimpat to its newly constructed, bank-owned building in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

The newly constructed central office, located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–3, Baluwatar, was formally inaugurated on Wednesday, Bhadra 3, by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Paudel at a ceremony.

With the inauguration, the bank’s central office, which had been operating from Lazimpat, Kathmandu, has now been shifted to Baluwatar.

Garima Bikas Bank began its formal financial operations from Waling, Syangja, on Kartik 18, 2064 BS. It relocated its central office to Mahendrapul, Kaski, on Baisakh 1, 2067 BS. Following its upgrade to a national-level development bank, the institution shifted its central office from Pokhara to Lazimpat, Kathmandu, on Chaitra 27, 2073 BS.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, Shiva Panchayan Pran Pratishtha and religious worship were also conducted at a temple constructed within the new office premises.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Paudel, Securities Board of Nepal Chairman Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt, officials from Nepal Rastra Bank and other regulatory bodies, members of Garima Bikas Bank’s Board of Directors, former officials of the bank, senior management officials, chief executive officers and senior officials of various banks and financial institutions, shareholders, employees and customers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Garima Bikas Bank CEO Madhav Prasad Upadhyay said the bank’s journey, which began in Waling, Syangja, in 2064 BS and progressed through Pokhara before reaching Kathmandu in 2073 BS, has now entered a new chapter with the operation of its central office from its own building.

He also highlighted the importance of customer trust, shareholder support, regulatory institutions, business partners, employees’ hard work and contribution, and strong corporate governance in the bank’s successful business journey.

Similarly, speaking during the closing session of the ceremony, Garima Bikas Bank Chairman Dilip Pratap Khan said the bank would move forward more strongly by prioritizing institutional governance, technology, innovation and sustainable development, while providing customers with more convenient, effective and quality banking services.

Currently, Garima Bikas Bank operates 126 branch offices and 51 ATMs across the country and provides modern banking services to approximately 1 million customers, focusing on delivering simple, secure and quality banking services.
