Banking News – The HP Lubricants Presents 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 is set to be held from Bhadra 9 to 14 at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu, marking the golden jubilee milestone of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal.

The automobile association, which was established in 1975 by a small group of vehicle importers and automobile entrepreneurs in Nepal, is celebrating five decades of its journey with the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show.

The exhibition will cover approximately 300,000 square feet of space at Bhrikutimandap and will feature more than 200 stalls.

The event will have direct participation from 23 passenger vehicle brands, 17 small and medium commercial vehicle brands and 13 two-wheeler brands.

In addition, around 70 companies representing automobile parts, tires, batteries, lubricants, charging infrastructure and garage equipment will participate in the exhibition. 10 banks, financial institutions and insurance companies will also take part in the event.

Over the past five decades, Nepal’s automobile sector has witnessed significant growth. There are currently approximately 5.5 million registered vehicles in Nepal.

In the past five fiscal years alone, Nepal has imported vehicles and related products worth approximately Rs. 470 billion, while the government has collected around Rs. 351 billion in customs revenue from these imports. This has made the automobile sector an important contributor to the national treasury.

The country is also increasingly moving toward green mobility. Approximately 63,000 electric vehicles have been imported into Nepal, while a network of around 2,000 charging stations has been established to support electric mobility.

According to NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti, the golden jubilee edition of the auto show is not merely a celebration of the association but also an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of the entire automobile industry.

Upreti said that 50 years is sufficient time to evaluate an industry not only on the basis of how much it has sold but also on how much it has sustained and contributed.

NADA has continued to play a leading role in developing Nepal’s automobile sector beyond vehicle imports and sales. The association has emphasized the sector’s contribution to employment generation, revenue collection, expansion of green technology and overall economic activity.

The 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 is therefore expected to bring together major automobile brands, financial institutions, insurance companies and businesses associated with the wider automobile ecosystem under one platform.
