Banking News – Police have arrested a youth for allegedly luring a minor through social media, publishing obscene material, and committing character assassination. The arrested has been identified as Sudip Katwal, 19, from Shivapuri Rural Municipality-7, Nuwakot.

According to police, Katwal befriended the minor through Facebook and lured her. He then allegedly posted obscene material related to the minor on social media, committed character assassination, and also demanded money.

Police deployed from the Cyber Bureau arrested him during the investigation. Police have stated that a seven-day remand has been extended against Katwal on charges under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, with permission from the Kathmandu District Court. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
