Banking News – Minister for Education and Sports Sasmitha Pokhrel has emphasized the need for all three tiers of government to work together for the development of the education sector. Speaking at a three-day provincial-level orientation program organized in Dhangadhi, Kailali, for stakeholders from provincial and local levels regarding policies, programs, budgets, and implementation processes in the education sector, Minister Pokhrel stated that improvement in education is possible only through coordination among all tiers.

Minister Pokhrel said, “Without collaboration with provincial and local levels, tasks in the education sector cannot be effectively accomplished. Therefore, let us move forward together to comply with the provisions made by the 10th amendment of the Education Regulations and other acts and laws.” He expressed his belief that maximum dialogue with all stakeholders is necessary while formulating education acts, policies, and laws, and that dialogue alone can resolve all problems.

Director of the Department of Education, Ran Prasad Neupane, informed that the orientation has been organized with the objective of establishing a common understanding among provinces, local levels, and Education Development and Coordination Units (EDCUs) regarding the implementation of various policies, laws, directives, standards, and annual programs related to the education sector.

Chief of the Coordination Unit, Kailali, Jeevan Neupane, informed that discussions and orientation on education programs for the fiscal year 2083-84 will be held for provinces, EDCUs, and local levels. The orientation will cover education policies, programs, budgets, provisions under the Sector-Wide Approach, indicators linked to programs, and budget disbursement.

Similarly, there will be discussions on programs of provinces, EDCUs, and local levels for the fiscal year 2083-84, and training will be provided on developing annual strategic implementation plans, annual action plans, and budgets based on local education plans. This is expected to facilitate local levels in integrating their approved education plans with annual programs and budgets.

Additionally, discussions will be held on the use of the School Education Sector Information Management System and the utilization of data obtained from it. Orientation will also be provided on various standards and policies in the education sector. The program includes participation of chiefs and representatives from education-related agencies across all nine districts of the province.
