Banking News – The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office has arrested an individual for operating a ride-sharing service using a stolen scooter. The arrested individual has been identified as Saroj Khanal, a resident of Damak Municipality-7, Jhapa, currently residing in New Buspark, Kathmandu.

Khanal had gone missing after taking a laptop bag accidentally left on the scooter by a passenger while traveling from Naxal to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Upon receiving information about the incident, traffic police launched a search and arrested him from a hotel in New Buspark, according to Naresh Raj Subedi, Spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office.

During the investigation, it was revealed that he had been using another person’s ride-sharing ID. According to police, he had also stolen a scooter from Gongabu some time ago. Subedi stated that Khanal is suspected to have been involved in vehicle theft for a long time, as his citizenship certificate was found inside the trunk of a motorcycle during efforts to locate stolen vehicles and return them to their owners.

He added that Khanal appears to have been involved in motorcycle theft for an extended period and may have stolen other motorcycles as well, with further investigation underway. The recovered laptop has been returned to its owner.
