Banking News – According to information received from the Chinese side, the lake formed at the site where the river was dammed following an icefall has still not fully opened. As a result, the risk of flooding in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river areas remains.

Issuing flood-related information, the Nepal Flood Information Center and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority have informed that the lake at the dammed river site has not fully opened.

The information issued at 1:35 PM on Wednesday urged people to stay away from the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers and remain in safe locations until further notice.

Due to potential changes in water flow at the dammed site, the risk persists in downstream areas. Residents of settlements along the rivers have also been requested to remain highly alert. The flood caused by the icefall in China has caused extensive damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading.
