Banking News – The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has expressed deep concern over the massive loss of life and property in the riverine areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and other districts caused by the severe flood in the Bhote Koshi River originating from Tibet.

As the flood impact could extend through Muglin to Chitwan, and all riverine areas connected to the Trishuli River remain at high risk, the Federation has urged immediate precautionary measures. With government agencies having already advised suspending movement on the Prithvi Highway and other roads in that corridor, FNCCI has appealed to all industrialists, businessmen, general public, and travelers in the riverine and affected areas to exercise extreme caution.

Although official details of the damage are yet to be received, preliminary reports indicate an enormous scale of destruction. The Federation has expressed solidarity with all affected parties including the general public, domestic and foreign pilgrims, communities, and industrialists and businessmen and has urged everyone to engage immediately in disaster management efforts.

Expressing concern over the massive damage to houses of the general public, shops of industrialists and businessmen, private and public vehicles, cargo vehicles, vehicles in the customs yard, bridges, hydropower plants, and other physical infrastructure caused by the devastating disaster, FNCCI has also informed that it will remain steadfast in supporting future reconstruction efforts.

In this difficult hour of disaster, FNCCI has made a heartfelt appeal to all district/municipality chambers of commerce and industry, commodity associations, and all industrialists and businessmen under its umbrella to urgently coordinate with local administrations and security agencies and actively engage in rescue, relief, and safety management as a top priority.
