Banking News – Ten individuals from Humla who had traveled to Rasuwa for employment have gone missing. According to Chandra Bir Shahi, Assistant Chief District Officer of Humla District Administration Office, eight men and two women from Humla are unreachable following the flood in the Bhote Koshi River at Rasuwa’s northern border on Wednesday morning.

“Residents from various villages of Humla had gone to Rasuwa for employment and work. They have been unreachable since the flood,” he said.

Those missing include Janak Budha (30), Anita Rawat, Umesh Bohora, along with Bohora’s wife and son from Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1. The names of Bohora’s wife and son have not been disclosed.

Similarly, Nahakul Sharma (41) and Dhanraj Jaisi from Tanjakot Rural Municipality-2 are also unreachable. Sharma was working as a customs officer. Tularaj Budha and Manbahadur Aidi from Sarkeghad Rural Municipality-8, Rahadeu, and Manjit Budha from Chankheli Rural Municipality-1 are also reported missing since the flood, according to the administration.

According to Assistant CDO Shahi, Manjit Budha had posted on Facebook about 30 minutes after the flood saying “We are safe.” However, contact has not been established with him since then.

Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mangal Bahadur Shahi informed on Wednesday through an appeal that effective coordination with relevant agencies is being carried out for the immediate search and rescue of the missing citizens. Chief Minister Shahi has urged the federal, provincial, and local governments, as well as disaster management-related agencies, to prioritize the protection of affected citizens’ lives during this disaster.
