Banking News – Global IME Bank Limited has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the search, rescue, immediate relief, and long-term rehabilitation of citizens affected by the devastating sudden flood in the Bhote Koshi River.
The destructive flood in the Bhote Koshi River has caused extensive erosion and inundation in riverine areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan, resulting in massive human and physical damage. The rapid flow of the river has claimed hundreds of lives, left many missing, and displaced hundreds of families. The river has also caused unprecedented destruction by sweeping away local settlements, bridges, road networks, and hydropower projects.

Expressing heartfelt tribute to those who lost their lives and deep condolences to the bereaved families, the bank has provided this assistance under its corporate social responsibility to support the search for the missing, treatment of the injured, immediate food and shelter arrangements for affected families, and long-term reconstruction of damaged structures.
