Banking News – Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) has informed that a total of Rs 5 arab 24 crore 79 lakh 44 thousand 585 has been deposited in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund so far.

According to Prime Minister Shah, the Government of Nepal has been mobilizing financial assistance for those affected and victimized by natural disasters through the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. He informed that contributions to the fund from both domestic and international sources have been increasing in recent times.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has been operating the “Rescue Request Portal” to transparently publish details of contributions received from domestic and international sources. According to Prime Minister Shah, a total of Rs 5 arab 24 crore 79 lakh 44 thousand 585 has been deposited in accounts across nine commercial banks as of midday today.

Similarly, an additional $21,232 USD has been deposited in Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank, he stated. Prime Minister Shah informed that discussions are underway on how to effectively utilize the collected amount for relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of victims.
