Banking News – After the road collapsed at Krishnabhir on the Prithvi Highway, gas bottling (filling) has begun outside the capital. As bullet trucks carrying gas cannot travel through, gas industries in the valley and neighboring districts have started filling gas outside the valley and transporting it in vehicles.

According to Devan Chand, President of the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, Nepal Oil Corporation has allowed industrialists to fill gas outside the capital. Industries in the valley and neighboring districts have coordinated with industries in Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Makwanpur, and Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East) districts to fill gas. He stated that over 40 percent of total consumption is required in the valley and neighboring districts alone.

Bimal Kalakheti, operator of Baba Gas and also a member of the association, informed that until the Krishnabhir road opens, gas will be filled at other industries and brought to Kathmandu via alternative routes. He said gas filled at industries in these districts will be transported to Kathmandu through roads including the Tribhuvan Rajpath. Stating that filling at industries outside has already begun, he suggested that there would be no shortage in the valley and neighboring districts and advised against hoarding.

Kalakheti informed that Shree Gas has started filling at Baba, Shrikrishna at Saibaba, Shriram at Janaki, Nepal Gas at Nepal Gandaki, and Everest and Sugam at Sahara industries. Other industries have also started filling in coordination with industries outside the capital or other industries, he said.
