Banking News – Executive Chairman of Vision Securities, Raj Kumar Timilsina, has stated that arrangements should be made to integrate broker companies into the investment banking domain to provide comprehensive services. Speaking at the first session “Product, Policy and Regulation: The Future of Nepal’s Capital Market” of the Nepal Capital Market Discourse 2026, organized by Banking Samachar with NASA Securities as the main sponsor, Timilsina informed that there are currently 90 brokers and two dealers in Nepal.

According to him, broker companies are providing direct employment to over 3,000 individuals and serving approximately 8 million investors. Timilsina stated that in the past, the role of brokers was limited to executing orders given by investors. However, he noted that with recent regulatory changes, brokers have been granted rights including investor classification, margin lending, TMS, and purchasing shares through their own window.

Stating that services can be integrated by bringing broker companies into the investment banking domain, Timilsina expressed the view that they should also be given the responsibilities of market bankers.
