Banking News – The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has stated that gas supply in the Kathmandu Valley is smooth and regular, and has urged consumers not to unnecessarily hoard cylinders.

Issuing a statement, the Association clarified that gas transportation via bullets has been affected after the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway was blocked due to recent floods and landslides. The Association stated that supply management has faced additional challenges after the Bhote Koshi flood caused damage in districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan.

After the road blockage, alternative arrangements have been made in coordination with Nepal Oil Corporation. The Association stated that empty cylinders from gas industries in Kathmandu, Kavre, and Dhading are being transported to industries in Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Dhanusha, and Nawalparasi for refilling, and then supplied to the valley.

Daily demand for gas in the valley is approximately 40,000 cylinders. The Association clarified that cylinders have been refilled and sold-distributed from Terai districts according to the same demand for the past three days, and supply will continue in the coming days as well.
