Banking News – Although the number of transactions through QR codes has been increasing in Nepal, the transaction amount has declined. According to the monthly payment system indicators of Nepal Rastra Bank up to mid-Bhadau of the current fiscal year 2083/84, the number of transactions through QR has increased.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the transaction amount through QR codes increased by Rs 26 arab 77 crore 50 lakh from mid-Asar to mid-Shrawan, reaching Rs 1 kharb 89 arab 90 crore 60 lakh. However, from mid-Shrawan to mid-Bhadau, the transaction amount decreased by Rs 25 arab 47 crore 90 lakh. Nepal Rastra Bank’s data shows that the transaction amount through QR was limited to Rs 1 kharb 64 arab 42 crore 90 lakh by mid-Bhadau.

Although the transaction amount decreased, the number of transactions has increased. From mid-Asar to mid-Shrawan, the number of QR transactions increased by 59 lakh 69 thousand 770, reaching 6 crore 95 lakh 89 thousand 977. Similarly, from mid-Shrawan to mid-Bhadau, an additional 28 lakh 93 thousand 325 transactions increased. With this, the number of transactions through QR codes reached 7 crore 24 lakh 38 thousand 302 by mid-Bhadau.
