Banking News – Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Narayan Datta Poudel, has stated that no one who does wrong in the organization will be spared and that soldiers of the nation must work as companions in people’s suffering. During an inspection visit to the border area in Koshi Province on Ashoj 16, IGP Poudel also directed that the responsibility entrusted by the state and the organization’s mandate must be fulfilled literally and professionally.

He directed commander-level officers to move forward by fully internalizing the Nepal Government’s good governance policy with the core principle that border crimes must be reached at their roots and action taken, and that no one who does wrong while in the organization will be spared. Poudel emphasized that the Home Minister’s effective performance directives, proper utilization of available resources, and complaint-free result-based directives must be implemented literally. He clarified that the unit chief themselves must take responsibility for all activities carried out by the unit and for operating resources appropriately so that no citizen’s complaint arises in any unit or office, and that commanders must demonstrate high discipline and present themselves as inspiring role models for lower-level employees.

IGP Poudel, noting that effective performance is the main measure of the force’s professionalism, directed the demonstration of high professional capability in border security, cross-border crime control, and controlling illegal smuggling and importation. Reminding that no one has the right to make mistakes under any pretext, Poudel said:

“A soldier who goes out to fight on the field does not step back with raised hands. We are all soldiers of the nation; we do not have the right to step back or show any kind of favoritism. Fulfill the responsibility entrusted with accountability with this professional stance.”

He stated that since the Armed Police Force, Nepal has become established as synonymous with disaster management, every commander must mandatorily have a response plan with factual identification of possible risks and challenges that may arise in their area of responsibility. He directed all Armed Police Force personnel to win the trust and confidence of citizens by regularly interacting with residents of border areas and to engage day and night in relief and rescue during disasters.

At the program, Manish Thapa, Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Force and Battalion Chief of No. 1 Baraha Battalion Headquarters Sunsari, stated that they have been continuously engaged in preventing illegal activities in border security, following the directives given by IGP Poudel literally.
