Banking News – Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahavir Pun has stated that since employment is not guaranteed solely on the basis of formal education, students must be focused on skills, research, and innovation.

Addressing the Labor and Employment Fair, organized by the Ministry of Youth, Labor and Employment, which has been ongoing in Itahari since Ashoj 14, Minister Pun stated that along with teaching and learning in universities and colleges, priority must be given to activities related to research, invention, and innovation.

Minister Pun stated that students must be made capable of becoming entrepreneurs themselves through the commercialization of newly developed goods and technology rather than just seeking jobs.

“Employment is not obtained just by studying; along with education, there must be skills,” he said. “If one can become an entrepreneur by commercializing products produced through innovation, there will be no need to seek employment.”

He emphasized the need to establish innovation centers in universities and colleges and arrange necessary equipment and resources. Minister Pun stated that laboratories must be built for the study, research, and use of medicinal herbs available in Nepal.
