Armed Police AIG Banshiraj Dahal Suspended on Charges of Leaking Sensitive Information

Banking News – The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended Armed Police Force Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshiraj Dahal on charges of leaking sensitive information. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, the investigation was initiated after receiving a recommendation for action from the Armed Police Force, Nepal, regarding Dahal’s alleged act of misconduct and leaking sensitive security-related information.

The Ministry has stated that, as per Monday’s decision, Dahal has been suspended and an investigation officer has been appointed to probe the allegations against him and matters related to his official conduct. The designated investigation officer has been instructed to complete the investigation and submit a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs within three days. AIG Dahal had been recommended for action on charges of leaking sensitive security-related information and acting contrary to official conduct.

The Ministry has also stated that, prioritizing peace, security, and the protection of the state’s sensitive information, close monitoring and analysis are being carried out on acts of misconduct by employees under the Ministry of Home Affairs, leakage of sensitive confidential information, and activities that could adversely affect peace and security. Stating that action will be taken in accordance with prevailing law in every activity or incident contrary to law, the Ministry of Home Affairs has reiterated its commitment to the rule of law, compliance with the law, and the protection of public peace and security.

The final decision on the allegations against Dahal will be determined by the report received from the investigation and further legal processes based on it.
