Banking News – The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged caution, stating that due to the influence of a low-pressure system developing in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of rainfall and snowfall in various parts of Nepal from the upcoming Wednesday to Saturday. As a low-pressure area is developing in the Bay of Bengal and its impact will also be felt in Nepal, the department has urged caution, stating that Nepal’s weather could be affected from Kartik 11 (Wednesday) to Kartik 15 (Sunday).

Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane stated that the period from Thursday night to Friday night could be more risky in terms of rainfall.

“A low-pressure system is developing in the Bay of Bengal,” said Meteorologist Lamichhane. “It is likely to convert into a cyclone from the upcoming Wednesday.”

He stated that from Wednesday, its impact could be felt in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces of Nepal.

“From Thursday, its impact will increase further. By Saturday afternoon, it is likely to cause rainfall and snowfall in various parts of Nepal.”

Stating that the impact of the cyclone will remain for four days, Lamichhane has suggested that trekkers and tourists in Nepal’s hilly and Himalayan regions should exercise caution.

“Farmers preparing to harvest paddy crops over these four days also need to be aware,” Lamichhane said.

He also urged people to plan work and travel only after obtaining necessary information from the division, as the weather is changing. Additionally, the division has stated that there is no possibility of rainfall and snowfall across the country on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Higher Rainfall Expected in Bagmati Province

According to Meteorologist Pokharel, there is a forecast of heavy rainfall in various places of the country during the period from Kartik 12 to 15. Many places in Bagmati Province are among the areas where more than 150 millimeters of rainfall could occur over the four-day period. He stated that there is also a possibility of significant rainfall in some places of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

According to the forecast he presented, 29 districts have been identified as areas where risk could increase due to continuous rainfall or heavy rainfall over a short period. He stated that those districts mainly fall in areas of Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. In particular, caution must be exercised as there is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in Manang district.
