Banking News – After employees who were supposed to be transferred and report to new responsibilities remained in their municipalities, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has revoked the financial and administrative responsibilities of the Chief Administrative Officers of three municipalities. The Ministry has frozen the accounts of Kanakasundari Rural Municipality in Jumla, Jirabhawani Rural Municipality in Parsa, and Budhanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu.
According to the Ministry, employees working in the municipalities had been transferred elsewhere. However, without reporting to the transferred office, they continued to work in the same municipality. Meanwhile, the municipalities had also not made the newly assigned Chief Administrative Officers report for duty.

The Ministry revoked the financial responsibilities of the municipalities regarding the matter of employees remaining in their original offices despite being transferred and the newly assigned Chief Administrative Officers not being made to report for duty. The Ministry has directed that the employees assigned as new Chief Administrative Officers be immediately engaged in work with financial and administrative responsibilities.
The Ministry has also requested the concerned Treasury and Comptroller Offices, by informing them about the revocation of the municipalities’ financial responsibilities, to make necessary arrangements for operating the accounts.
