We all have a role to play in making the economy where it is now: Economist Thapa


KATHMANDU- Economic advisor to Finance Minister Varshman Pun, economist Surya Thapa has said that all sides are responsible for the country’s economy to be in the current state. Economist Thapa, speaking in the first session of the Banking Discourse on ‘Expectations of the Banking Sector’s Current Monetary Policy’, said that the National Bank, the Government and the private sector all have a role to play in bringing the economy to its current state.

Economist Thapa said, ‘One party cannot be blamed for the economy coming to its current state, the role of the government and private sector as a whole is equal to this. Everyone should solve the current problem together.’

Former finance minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, former finance minister Surendra Pandey, executive director of bank supervision department of Rashtra Bank Ramu Paudel, economist Surya Bahadur Thapa are participating in this session. Senior journalist Dil Bhushan Pathak is the facilitator of this session.
