Kathmandu – Nepal Rastra Bank has issued a financial message today (Tuesday) giving information about the limits of currency exchange facility. The Central Bank has mentioned in the message that the limits of the foreign currency equivalent facilities that Nepalese who visit the respective country for the first time after obtaining an immigration visa have been specified.
The National Bank has set the limit of foreign exchange facility through the regulatory system. According to which, it is arranged that Nepalese citizens can exchange a maximum of 5000 US dollars or other convertible foreign currency per person for settlement expenses only once.
By submitting a copy of passport, immigration visa and air ticket, the concerned person can avail such facility from banks and financial institutions licensed for foreign exchange transactions by Rashtra Bank.
Such a facility is not available to the Nepali citizens who go to the respective country and return to Nepal without taking the facility according to this arrangement and who get an immigration visa while staying in the same country and return abroad.
