Banking News — The 4th National Banking Discourse 2026, jointly organized by Banking Samachar and Banking News, is set to take place on June 10 (Jestha 27) with four thematic sessions focusing on the evolving challenges and opportunities in Nepal’s banking and financial sector.

Held under the theme “Expanding Our Horizons: Embracing Change,” the fourth edition of the discourse will bring together policymakers, regulators, banking leaders, fintech experts, insurance professionals and representatives from the private sector to discuss pressing issues shaping the country’s financial landscape.
According to the organizers, the program will comprise an inaugural session followed by four panel discussions covering key areas of the economy and banking industry.
The first session, titled “How Long Will Money Continue to Accumulate in Banks? Strengthening Business Confidence,” will explore ways to stimulate investment and restore confidence among entrepreneurs and businesses.
The second session, “Expanding Investment in Agriculture: The Role of Banks, Government and the Private Sector,” will focus on increasing financing for agriculture and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to support sustainable economic growth.
The third session will examine “The Future of Banking: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Fintech,” highlighting the growing role of emerging technologies and the need to enhance digital resilience within the financial sector.
Another major discussion will center on “The Sustainability of Development Banks: Contributions, Competition and Policy,” addressing the challenges and opportunities facing development banks in a rapidly changing financial environment.

A number of commercial banks, development banks, finance companies and other financial institutions have extended their support to the event.
Senior officials from Nepal Rastra Bank, banking and financial institutions, insurance companies, fintech firms and experts from various sectors are expected to participate in the discourse, which aims to foster dialogue and generate ideas for navigating the future of Nepal’s financial ecosystem.
