Banking News – A total of 2,076 motorists were penalized for violating traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley over the past 24 hours, generating Rs. 1.97 million in government revenue.

According to Naresh Prasad Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, enforcement action was taken against 68 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 129 for unauthorized ride-sharing services, 126 for running red lights, and 189 for speeding.
In addition, 139 motorists were fined for violating lane discipline, 124 for using vehicle horns in prohibited zones, 85 for parking on sidewalks, 59 for driving on one-way roads, while 1,157 others were penalized for various other traffic violations.
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said the enforcement drive resulted in the collection of Rs. 1,971,509 in revenue for the state treasury over the 24-hour period.
