Banking News – A court has granted authorities an additional five days to keep former Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel in custody for further investigation into an alleged money laundering case.

The extension was approved by a bench comprising Judges Narayan Prasad Paudel and Bidur Koirala.
Paudel was arrested in Surkhet on Asar 8, 2083 BS, on charges related to money laundering. He was first remanded to custody for seven days on Asar 9 to facilitate the investigation. The latest order marks the fourth extension of his detention.
During the initial remand hearing, a bench comprising Judges Narayan Prasad Paudel, Hemanta Rawal, and Umesh Koirala authorized his seven-day detention. On Asar 15, the same bench granted a three-day extension, followed by a six-day extension issued by a bench comprising Judges Hemanta Rawal, Dilliratna Shrestha, and Umesh Koirala.
Authorities continue to investigate Paudel over allegations of money laundering.
