Banking News – Traffic police in the Kathmandu Valley took action against 2,066 motorists for violating traffic regulations over the past 24 hours, generating NPR 1,860,030 in government revenue through fines.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, enforcement measures were taken against 65 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 122 motorists for operating unauthorized ride-sharing services, 120 drivers for violating traffic signals, and 114 motorists for speeding.

In addition, police penalized 142 drivers for failing to follow lane discipline, 74 for using vehicle horns in prohibited areas, 103 for illegal parking on footpaths, and 89 for driving on one-way roads.

The remaining 1,237 motorists were fined for various other traffic rule violations, the traffic police office said.
