Banking News – Police have arrested 17 individuals for allegedly forcing commuters into vehicles, pulling their luggage, and harassing passengers in the Balkhu area of Kathmandu.

Those arrested have been identified as Suman Lama, Arjun Lama, Surendra Tamang, and Sajan Magar from Kavrepalanchok; Ajay Ram Mahara, Kalam Hawari, and Krishna Gopal Chaudhary from Bara; Tej Bahadur Khadka; Tirth Mallik Bhupal and Damodar Prasad Sah from Parsa; Basant Karki from Udayapur; Ankit Kumar from India; Sikinder Mahato from Sarlahi; Mahesh Rai from Makwanpur; Ram Krishna Giri from Chitwan; Santosh Syangtan; and Diwas Chhetri from Syangja.

According to police, the arrests were made by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office following multiple complaints that the group had been harassing pedestrians and passengers in the Balkhu area for an extended period by forcibly pushing them into vehicles and grabbing their bags.

The suspects were apprehended in the Balkhu area and are currently under further investigation, police said.
