Banking News – An attempted armed robbery involving gunfire was reported in Lalbandi, Sarlahi, on Wednesday night after an unidentified group allegedly tried to rob a local businessman.

According to police, the incident occurred on a road along the border of Lalbandi Municipality Wards 7 and 3, where three individuals riding a motorcycle attempted to rob Hari Prasad Sapkota, a mobile phone shop owner from Lalbandi-7, as he was returning home after closing his shop.
Police said the suspects intercepted Sapkota after following him to a relatively isolated area. When he resisted the robbery attempt, the attackers opened fire using a homemade pistol before fleeing the scene.
District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam said the victim’s resistance forced the assailants to abandon the robbery and escape after firing a shot.
Police recovered a spent cartridge case from the homemade firearm at the scene and have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects. No injuries were reported in the incident.
