Banking News – Nabil Bank, one of Nepal’s leading private commercial banks, has completed 42 years of operation and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its ‘Banking and Beyond’ concept while leading the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven banking services.

Speaking at the anniversary event, Chairman Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary said that trust has been the foundation of Nabil Bank’s success over the past 42 years and will continue to shape its future. He stated that the bank has led transformation in Nepal’s banking sector by introducing modern technologies and driving innovation.

“We did not wait for change; we always led it,” Chaudhary said. “From laying the foundation of modern banking to providing a new digital banking experience through nBank, Nabil has continuously prioritized innovation.”

According to him, Nabil Bank is the only financial group in Nepal offering an integrated financial ecosystem that includes commercial banking, investment banking, stock brokerage, merchant banking, capital market services, and digital banking.

Chairman Chaudhary said that AI will be placed at the center of the bank’s future strategy to make banking services smarter, safer, and more personalized. He noted that AI will contribute to faster loan processing, more effective risk management, improved customer experience, and greater financial inclusion.

Chief Executive Officer Manoj Kumar Gyawali said that since its establishment in 1984, Nabil Bank has reached its current position through the trust of millions of customers and the dedication of thousands of employees. He added that the bank is not only a financial service provider but also a trusted partner in its customers’ journey toward success.

The bank stated that it has continued to expand investments in the agriculture, energy, tourism, and micro, cottage, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sectors. According to the bank, it has currently invested Rs 53.31 billion in agriculture, Rs 51.06 billion in energy, Rs 45.92 billion in MSMEs, and Rs 11.10 billion in tourism.

Nabil Bank also reported significant growth in its financial indicators. The bank’s net worth, which stood at Rs 28 million in fiscal year 2041/42, has increased to Rs 70.83 billion, while its net profit has risen from Rs 1 million to Rs 6.76 billion. Deposits have grown from Rs 146 million to Rs 588.85 billion, while lending has increased from Rs 133 million to Rs 464.10 billion.

The bank currently serves more than 2.6 million customers through a nationwide network of 264 branches, 315 ATMs, 18 extension counters, and 2,469 employees.

On the occasion of its 42nd anniversary, Nabil Bank announced a range of customer-focused promotional schemes to be conducted over 42 days. These include a reconstruction home loan scheme for families affected by road expansion projects in Hetauda and Birgunj, a 42 percent discount on locker security deposits, up to 50 percent discounts on Electronic Payment Gateway (EPG) services, and special offers on credit and debit card services.

The bank expressed its commitment to further contributing to Nepal’s economic development through sustainable banking, digital transformation, and AI technology, while continuing to expand services in line with customer expectations.
