Five New Board Members Appointed to Nepal Tourism Board Through Open Competition


Banking NewsThe Government of Nepal has appointed five new members to the Board of Directors of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) through an open and competitive selection process.

The newly appointed board members are Khum Bahadur Subedi, Santosh Pokharel, Shrijana K.C., Pemba Sherpa, and Dr. Shobhita Shrestha Dhakal.

According to the Tourism Act and prevailing legal provisions, the appointments were made following an evaluation of applications by the Board Member Selection Committee, which was formed to oversee the recruitment process.

The Nepal Tourism Board said it received more than 1,100 applications from across the country. Candidates were selected based on their qualifications, professional experience, contributions to the tourism sector, leadership ability, and overall competence.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the appointments were made through a transparent and merit-based process aimed at strengthening tourism policymaking, destination promotion, investment attraction, and public-private partnerships.

The Board expressed confidence that the newly appointed members’ experience and leadership will contribute to the sustainable development of Nepal’s tourism industry, enhance its international promotion, and further strengthen collaboration with the private sector.
