Banking News – The Department of Roads is working to reopen the Kodari section of the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok by this evening after landslides blocked the route, provided weather conditions remain favorable.

The highway was completely obstructed by landslides at Jiro Kilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 and the Kodari area of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, disrupting traffic along the key trade corridor.
Department of Roads Director General Bijay Jaisi said the road is expected to reopen by this evening if rainfall subsides, while continuous rain could delay reopening until tomorrow.
To accelerate clearance operations, dozers, excavators, loaders and other heavy machinery have been deployed at landslide-prone locations, with debris removal work continuing at full pace.
The Department of Roads has urged the public to remain cautious and check the latest road conditions before travelling, as persistent heavy rainfall has increased the risk of landslides across several highways in the country.
