Banking News – The District Traffic Police Office, Janakpur, collected Rs. 114.09 million in revenue during the fiscal year 2082/83 through enforcement actions against traffic rule violators.

According to Chief Police Inspector Khagendra Kumar Dahal, action was taken against 12,603 vehicles for violating traffic regulations, generating Rs. 114,009,501 in government revenue during the fiscal year.

In comparison, the office had penalized 28,538 vehicles in FY 2081/82, collecting Rs. 221.11 million in revenue.

The office also reported that 1,358 road accidents occurred in Dhanusha district during FY 2082/83, resulting in 82 fatalities and 2,198 injuries. In the previous fiscal year, 1,221 road accidents claimed 84 lives.

Although the number of traffic accidents has increased in recent years, the number of fatalities has declined, according to Inspector Dahal.

He attributed the rise in accidents to poor road conditions and human negligence, while noting that enhanced traffic awareness campaigns and regular enforcement operations have helped reduce the number of deaths caused by road accidents.
