Siraha Traffic Police Collect Over Rs. 114 Million in Revenue During FY 2025/26


Banking News – The District Traffic Police Office in Siraha collected more than Rs. 114.36 million in revenue during the fiscal year 2025/26 through enforcement actions against traffic rule violators.

According to Traffic Police Inspector Nabin Marasini, chief of the District Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 13,416 vehicles for violating traffic regulations during the fiscal year, generating Rs. 114.36 million in revenue.

In comparison, during FY 2024/25, the office had taken action against 32,157 drivers, collecting Rs. 251.19 million in revenue.

Traffic accident data showed that 1,020 road accidents were recorded in Siraha during FY 2025/26. The accidents claimed the lives of 81 people, including 62 men, seven women, and 12 children, while 1,676 people were injured.

In the previous fiscal year, 967 road accidents were reported in the district, resulting in the deaths of 64 men, 14 women, and 11 children, with 1,554 people sustaining injuries.

Inspector Marasini said that although the number of road accidents increased slightly due to factors such as poor road conditions and human negligence, the number of fatalities declined compared to the previous fiscal year.

He added that enhanced traffic awareness campaigns and regular traffic enforcement operations have contributed to improving road safety and reducing the severity of traffic accidents in recent years.
