Banking News – Huawei has introduced two new digital energy solutions in Nepal aimed at improving solar power generation, grid stability, and energy storage as the country accelerates the adoption of renewable energy.

At an event held in Kathmandu, the company unveiled the FusionSolar 9.0 Smart Photovoltaic (PV) Solution and the LUNA Grid-Forming Energy Storage System (ESS), designed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of large-scale solar energy projects.
According to Huawei, FusionSolar 9.0 is an advanced digital platform developed for utility-scale solar power plants. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies, the system is designed to improve power generation efficiency, simplify operations and maintenance, and optimize overall energy management.
The newly launched LUNA Grid-Forming Energy Storage System (ESS) enables electricity generated from renewable sources to be stored and supplied when demand increases. The company said the technology also helps maintain grid stability, addressing one of the key challenges associated with intermittent renewable energy generation.
Huawei noted that energy storage has become increasingly important as Nepal expands solar power alongside its hydropower sector. Since solar generation is concentrated during daylight hours while electricity demand often peaks later, advanced storage systems can play a crucial role in balancing supply and demand and improving the reliability of the national power system.
The launch event was attended by Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) President Birendra Raj Pandey, Huawei Digital Power South Asia Director Yu Jianlong, Huawei Nepal CEO Chester Chen, Huawei Nepal Digital Power Director Rohit Chandra Shah, as well as energy developers and stakeholders from Nepal’s renewable energy sector.
