Synergy Power Suspends Electricity Generation After Flood Damages Hydropower Project


Banking News – Synergy Power Development Limited has temporarily halted electricity generation from its Sipring Khola Hydropower Project after severe flooding and landslides caused significant damage to the project’s headworks.

According to the company, the 10 MW Sipring Khola Hydropower Project sustained extensive damage when floods and landslides struck its headworks at around 11:00 PM on Shrawan 5 (July/August).

The disaster damaged most of the project’s headworks infrastructure, forcing the company to completely suspend power generation until repairs can be carried out.

Synergy Power has stated that the extent of the damage is being assessed, and further updates regarding restoration works and the timeline for resuming electricity production will be provided as the evaluation progresses.
