Banking News – A tax officer at the Inland Revenue Office, Lahan, has been arrested by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for allegedly accepting a bribe from a service recipient.

According to CIAA Information Officer Prakash Pokharel, a team deployed from the commission’s Bardibas Office apprehended Tax Officer Yubaraj Pal while he was allegedly receiving the bribe.
The CIAA alleges that Pal demanded and accepted the bribe in exchange for facilitating the tax audit process of a company based in Lahan.
Pokharel said the commission is currently investigating the case to determine the exact amount of the bribe and gather further evidence before proceeding with legal action.
